Safety first, always

How we keep it safe

Read this part before anything else. It is the part we will not compromise on.

  • A guardian applies, not the child

Every application is made and signed off by a parent or legal guardian.

  • No direct messaging

Customers cannot message a young creator. All contact comes through us.

  • No personal details published

First name only. No surname, school, address or contact details ever appear on the site.

  • Every listing is reviewed

We check the product, the photographs and the wording before anything goes live.

  • Payments go to the guardian

Earnings are paid to the guardian’s account, never to a child.

  • Consent you can withdraw

A guardian can ask us to take a listing or a photograph down at any time, and we do it.

  • Age-appropriate throughout

What we publish is written for a family audience and reviewed with that in mind.

  • An adult at every step

From the first conversation to the final delivery, an adult is part of it.

If anything on this page ever concerns you, write to us and we will act on it the same day. A guardian can have a listing or a photograph removed at any time, without giving a reason.

Our promise to every family

A child’s safety comes before every sale on this page.

We built this programme the way we would want it built for our own children. A guardian leads, we review everything, and nothing about a young creator reaches a customer that their family has not agreed to. If anything ever feels wrong, one message from the guardian takes it down.

Give a child a real audience, and you give them a reason to keep making. – LankanCart

Guardian-led from start to finish

How it works

Eight steps, and an adult is part of every one of them.

  1. A guardian applies

The parent or guardian fills in the form and tells us about the work.

  2. We talk it through

A conversation with the guardian about the child and what they make.

  3. Consent and safety check

Written consent, and agreement on what may and may not be shown.

  4. Product review

We look at quality, materials, safety and how it would be sold.

  5. Photographs and words

We help present the work well, without identifying the child.

  6. The listing goes live

Their work appears on LankanCart with the guardian named as the seller.

  7. Orders are fulfilled

Packing, shipping and customer questions are handled by us and the guardian.

  8. Earnings and learning

Payment goes to the guardian, with education support alongside it.

Education support

Every sale backs their learning

Selling is the visible part. The point is what it pays for: materials to keep creating, books to keep reading, and the confidence that comes from someone paying for your work.

  • Earnings paid to the guardian, for the child’s benefit
  • Free access to the LankanCart Online Library
  • Guidance on materials, costing and presenting work
  • Encouragement to keep studying alongside creating

Showcase your talent

For parents and guardians

If someone in your family makes something worth seeing, start here. The application is yours to make, not the child’s, and nothing is published until you have agreed to all of it.

  • A parent or legal guardian makes the application
  • The young creator is under 18
  • The work is made by the child, with adult help where needed
  • You are happy for the work — not the child — to be shown
  • You can supply repeat pieces, however few

This form is for parents and guardians. Please do not ask a child to fill it in, and do not send us a child’s contact details.

Applications reach our team through the partner form, and we come back to the guardian by email.
